Final Cut Pro Training at Video Symphony

Final Cut Pro Training at Video Symphony

Barley a decade in the making, Final Cut Pro is now a leading film editing technology used in major motion pictures such as the Coen brother's, No Country For Old Men, and Spike Jonze's, Where the Wild Things Are.

In today's expanding, multi-platform job market, editors shouldn't just know Final Cut Pro but rather, they are expected too. Most importantly, having a strong understanding of both Final Cut and Media Composer makes an editor more competitive in the industry, providing many more opportunities in the job market.

Video Symphony's introductory course is designed to organically flow through the creative process of editing from end to end, starting with 3-point editing, followed by trimming, graphics, sound mixing and titles. Finally we explore the often overlooked technical side to editing, including capturing both tape and tapeless formats, outputting to DVD, Youtube and quicktime, as well as how to manage your media.

For students who venture to take the advanced class, we'll expand the concepts of dynamic trimming, color correction, multi-cam editing, and nesting effects. We also explore other application in Final Cut Studio including lessons on Soundtrack Pro, DVD Studio Pro and Compressor.

For beginner students, five days of class will make your hands feel confident as you begin your new career. Furthermore, you'll have a professional base of knowledge to start from, without the bad habits that many self taught editors develop over time. For a student with more experience you'll edit faster, more efficiently, and with a greater degree of control. You'll learn keyboard shortcuts, and workflows at the forefront of the industry such as working with RED and DSLR. Finally, you'll have a chance to answer all your own FCP questions from your past experiences.

Video Symphony program students often take the FCP courses towards the end of their curriculum, which makes key concepts much quicker to grasp. A solid understanding of editing prior to entering the class leaves more class times for demonstrating advanced features, tips outside the books, and practice on real world examples.

Video Symphony's FCP instructors are working professionals. They go ?beyond the book' and explain new and developing technologies as well as other applications in FCP Studio. They will welcome you to the growing FCP professional community.
