Reine-Claire

Reine-Claire was born in Grenoble France. She created her own little diary when her family bought a TV set when she was 10 years old and began to rate all of the movies that aired on the family television, supplementing her book with cut out articles from Television Guide. She received her MA in Political Science in France and did her dissertation on "Political Star System." She came to the United States from France to attend Columbia College where she graduated with her BA in Cinema and began her career as a PA in 1985 on the features, "First & Ten" and "Earth Girls Are Easy." In 1988 she started her career in editing working as the Apprentice Editor on "Mac the Knife" then 2nd Assistant Editor on Stephen King's "It" "the Marrying man", "And the sea will tell" and "Memoirs of Invisible Man." From 1991-95, Reine-Claire worked as the 1st Assistant Editor on "Dave," "Junior," "Assassins," "Beethoven 2nd" and "Space Jam."

For the past 12 years, she has served as an Editor on independent features; she received in May 2008 a Best Editing Nomination at The Hoboken International Film Festival in New jersey for “The Sensei” a feature length movie directed by D.L Inosanto, starring Keith David, Sab Shimoto, Louis Mandylor and Tzi ma, the movie was the winner for best screenplay.

She has just completed “The Delivery” directed by Gabrielle De Cuir and starring Michael York.

She also has cut few documentaries, three of them part of a series at the Monterey Maritime Museum in Northern California, educational videos and edited segments for the Internet.

She started teaching Editing in 1997 at the Cinema Department of San Francisco State University and has been a Faculty at the School of Cinematic Arts at the USC in addition of Video Symphony.

Her specialty is Aesthetics and Editing Mentoring, and in 2001 she was certified as an ACI (Avid Certified Instructor). She lives by the quote "The Avid does not edit, the Editor does."
