As industry veterans with hundreds of major film, TV, and music credits for audio production spanning over 3 decades, they have been also recognized for outstanding creative and sales achievements with gold reel, Emmy, and gold, platinum and diamond awards.

In addition all levels of Digidesign certification, these highly acclaimed professionals provide their own industry crafted expertise covering every aspect of sound production and audio engineering that truly defines contemporary audio production – including: recording, editing, mixing, mastering, Foley, dialog, sound design, sound effects, voice-over production, video game audio and much more.

Michael Verdick
Michael Verdick is a seasoned 34-year veteran of the industry with an impressive collection of gold, platinum and diamond records with his name on them for work done with artists such as Madonna, The Eagles, Al Jarreau, and others. He also worked on the 2010 Grammy winning album "Prayer For Compassion." His credits also include feature films and video games as well as an array of musicians including John Lennon, Ringo Starr, Juice Newton, Gladys Knight, Sly Stone, Quincy Jones, Stephen Stills, Larry Carlton, Ted Nugent, Rod Stewart, William Shatner and many more. see full credits

Roger Nichols
Roger S. Nichols is a 7 time Grammy Award-winning recording engineer, record producer, inventor and mastering engineer, who is well-known for his work with the groups Steely Dan and John Denver, as well as many other major music acts. His client list also includes the Beach Boys, Stevie Wonder, Frank Zappa, Crosby Stills & Nash, Al Di Meola, Roy Orbison, Cass Elliot, Plácido Domingo, Gloria Estefan, Diana Ross, Bela Fleck & the Flecktones, Rickie Lee Jones, Kenny Loggins, Mark Knopfler, Michael McDonald, James Taylor, and Toots Thielemans, to name just a few. see full credits

Joel Krantz
Joel Krantz is Video Symphony's lead Pro Tools instructor. He's "The man who wrote the books" - a talented musician, sound editor, mixer and writer. Solange Schwalbe
Solange Schwalbe, otherwise well-known as "The Foley Queen of Hollywood," is a Golden Reel & Emmy Award winning sound editor and Foley supervisor with 25 years of experience and more than a 142 feature film credits. see full credits

Victoria Rose Sampson
Victoria Rose Sampson has been a Feature Film Sound Editor since 1973, and still finds time to pursue her dream of a writing and directing career. With over 141 film credits to her name, her recent credits include Sex and the City:The Movie, Wild Hogs, Evan Almighty, Transylmania, Pirates of the Caribbean:Curse of the Black Pearl, to name a few. see full credits

David Sonnenschein
Sound designer and author David Sonnenschein comes to his Video Symphony classroom with both academic and practical sound design experience. In pursuit of his abiding interest in cinema sound, he has studied neurobiology, physiology, and the principles of psychoacoustics. see full credits

Rickley Dumm
Dumm brings a wealth of industry experience to his Pro Tools classroom. His feature film credits extend back to 1987 Dumm has been a sound effects editor or sound editor for dozens of feature films. see full credits

Pro Tools - Pro Tools is a Digital Audio Workstation platform widely used by professionals throughout the audio industries for recording and editing in music production, film scoring, television, post production and video games. The Pro Tools M-Powered system works with M-Audio hardware peripherals, the Pro Tools LE system uses either an Mbox or 003 interface, and the Pro Tools HD hardware includes the Sync I/O, Sync HD, 96 I/O and 192 I/O interfaces. Engineers that learn pro tools become skilled at the most popular audio recording and mixing software used in studios today.

audio production - Audio production is all that is required to create and finalize the audio needed for a production. Also called audio digital production, audio post production, audio mixing, audio music production, audio music recording, audio engineering and audio music editing. Contemporary sound recording concepts & techniques often include a blend of vintage sounds with modern editing and mixing automation, to produce the best of both analog and digital audio formats.

audio engineering - Audio engineering is a part of audio science dealing with the recording and reproduction of sound through mechanical and electronic means, with analog or digital formats. Job titles for audio engineering include audio engineer, recording engineer, sound engineer, mixing engineer, mixer, live mixer, 2nd engineer, assistant engineer, mastering engineer, audio producer, music producer and audio artist.

awards - Awards for Industry recognition that are given by membership based organizations include the Emmy for Television (presented by Academy of Television Arts & Sciences/National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences,) and the Golden Reel Award for Film and Television (presented by the Motion Picture Sound Editors). Awards given for noteworthy sales achievements as certified by the Recording Industry Association of America include the Gold Record (500,000 units), the Platinum Record (1 million units) and the Diamond Record (10 million units).

Digidesign - Digidesign is an American digital audio technology company whose flagship software product is Pro Tools. Additional functionality is provided through Pro Tools plug-ins & effects, and plug-ins from many 3rd party developers. The Pro Control, D Command and ICON are control surfaces from Digidesign.

music editor - Using digital music-editing technology, a music editor edits, times and organizes music for film, video or CDs.

foley - The background sounds added during audio sweetening to replace missing audio or increase realism. Foley recording, editing & delivery requires understanding what sounds a scene really needs and what materials and/or performance techniques are essential to create such sounds. The Foley editor works with the Foley artists to create the sounds, and often with the director and mixer on the final mix.

sound effects - Within audio production and especially those containing video content, sound effects generally are considered all audio that is not voice or music, and sound design and Foley are a part of sound effects. Within audio processing and mixing, sound effects or simply “effects” usually means signal processing; such as reverb, delays, flanging and so on, as in the phrase “add an effect”.

mastering - Mastering is an audio post production process where completed audio mixes are assembled, edited and processed for the maximum production value effect, with a consideration for consistency within any collection of multiple songs or audio files. Mastering may also prepare the audio output for digital downloads and manufacturing of CDs, vinyl records and DVDs; including PQ marks, the proper audio format, sampling rate and any compression required. Mastering typically does not involve video, which is usually considered authoring. “Mastering in the mix” completes the mastering process within the mix itself.
