Video Symphony is the launching pad of many successful careers in editing, graphic animation & effects, Pro Tools and 3D animation. All over the globe, in every facet of these industries, our students have worked on countless feature films and television shows--from Comedy Central’s South Park to big films such as Lord of the Rings: Return of the King and Disney’s Tron Legacy.
Video Symphony’s Graphics Animation & Effects Program helps students develop an extensive collection of motion graphic skills. Hands-on training is our primary approach and our students are educated using applications that are most favored in the broadcast design and effects industry. Those applications are: Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Final Cut Pro, Cinema 4D and Autodesk Maya – and our software versions are always one step ahead of the industry.
Recent evolution in the industry has seen the merging of multiple production positions. One person is now expected to have the broad knowledge base that was previously the domain of several specialists. For this reason we make sure our students develop a skill-set that covers this new industry standard. Our students receive this comprehensive training from current industry masters. They learn editing, broadcast graphics, 3D animation, compositing, photo manipulation and effects.
The Breakdown
The Graphics Animation and Effects program is strategically separated into four modules to maximize learning here at Video Symphony.
Module One is the Introductory Module. This module will familiarize students with the basic concepts and building blocks of animation and motion graphics design before beginning their training in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Typography and Color Theory.
The second module is known as the Intermediate Module. This module advances a student’s knowledge by combining Adobe Photoshop and After Effects education with real-life film and television skills such as formatting, importing and exporting projects, creating broadcast design elements and more. The second module is also a key milestone in students' education as it gives students their first taste of 3D animation using industry popular Cinema 4D.
The third module, known as the Professional Module, is where students’ become masters of their craft as they delve into advanced levels of Photoshop and After Effects—and continue 3D education in advanced Cinema 4D and Autodesk Maya.
In the fourth and final module, students finish their 3D education and embark into the world of job marketing. Students will be given extremely powerful tools to help them assess their strengths and exploit them to maximize their job potential. Additionally, students will learn to master the “job interview”—and learn to use their animation demos online and in the interview to wow their prospective employer. It is in this period of time that students will work closely with our job placement department so they may get a jumpstart in their new careers.
